London CNN —Prince Harry choked up in court as he concluded an eight-hour testimony in his lawsuit against a major British newspaper publisher, admitting he would feel an “injustice” if his claims of phone hacking were dismissed by the judge. The duke is suing Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN), accusing its titles of phone hacking and using other illicit means to gather information about his life between 1996 and 2009. Green, the barrister for MGN, pressed Harry on Tuesday on the specifics of his phone hacking allegations, saying there is “not a single item of call data at any time” between Harry’s phone and any Mirror Group journalist. Overall, the prince alleges that about 140 articles published in titles belonging to Mirror Group contained information gathered using unlawful methods. MGN is contesting most of the allegations, arguing in its court filings that some claims have been brought too late and that in all four cases there is insufficient evidence of phone hacking.

The owner, who wants to sell before April 1, is prepared to lose millions on it. Here's why: He bought the home less than two years ago for $44 million, then tried to sell the house a year later for $48 million. But those potential losses go even higher on April 1 when the city of LA enacts a 5.5% mansion tax on all real estate deals over $10 million. If the residence doesn't sell soon that new tax will add a $2.1 million tax bill to the deal, which could bring the seller's losses to just over $8.1 million. And near the end of the tour Malka openly discusses the home's dramatic price cuts, and why he wants to get it sold before April Fool's Day.
EstateLuxShootTrying to unload an expensive mansion in the midst of a banking crisis with the LA real estate market softening and uncertainty looming large isn't exactly great timing. Feinberg, like all luxury mansion sellers in LA, is also contending with the new mansion tax approved by voters in November. Yann IppolitoFor homes priced between $5 million and $10 million, sellers will have to pay the city 4% of the total sale price. According to his calculations, all of those sellers combined would have racked up a mansion tax bill of almost $131 million. "When New York implemented the mansion tax in 2019, there was a surge in closings just short of the July 1 start date and a void of sales in the following months," he said.
"As this stage, it looks highly unlikely, if we look at the global production prospects for cereals and oilseeds." Wheat, corn and palm oil futures have from dropped from record or multi-year highs but prices in the retail market remain elevated and tight supplies are forecast to support prices in 2023. Food imports costs are already on course to hit a near $2 trillion record in 2022, forcing poor countries to cut consumption. Corn and soybeans climbed to their highest in a decade, while Malaysia's benchmark crude palm oil prices climbed to a record high in March. For rice, prices are expected to remain high as long as export duties imposed earlier this year by India, the world's biggest supplier, remain in place, traders said.

“A NEW YEAR, a new slope” could be the mantra of Lisa Parilla, whose Bay Area family of four like to try out new ski runs during winter breaks. While dad and the couple’s 11-year-old son ski all day, she and their 13-year-old daughter like to squeeze in shopping, sightseeing and leisurely lunch breaks. Given high travel costs, booking flights, food and comfortable digs for a five-day spree at $10,000 demands creativity and flexibility. Its iconic Corbet’s Couloir run, however, with a terrifying 45-degree pitch, is not for the faint of heart. For this family trip, Ms. Nash suggests Hotel Terra in Teton Village, or a 1-2 bedroom with full kitchen at Teton Mountain Lodge, a ski-in, ski-out option in Mountain Village.
Sam Madden, 23, has worked as a nanny, waitress, and bartender in Nantucket and Aspen for six years. I had some money saved to pay for rent because I'd worked at McDonald's and Olive Garden throughout high school. In the main house, there were a bunch of college guys and girls who all worked at the Nantucket Yacht Club, and I thought that their summer looked like so much fun. My manager saw that I had bartending on my résumé from the yacht club and asked if I wanted to start bartending. She lived with a manager of a restaurant called Cru, which is kind of the "It" restaurant on the island.
